Women under the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) in Ondo State have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, pledging to deliver at least 95 percent of votes across the state.
The declaration came during a women’s mobilization programme held in Ondo town, where the State Women Wing Coordinator of AMG, Yetunde Adeyanju, a former commissioner, praised the President’s governance style and developmental initiatives.
According to Adeyanju, the group has commenced intensive grassroots engagement across all 18 local government areas of the state to educate and sensitize women voters about the administration’s achievements.
“Our mandate is basically to go to all the local governments in Ondo State, mobilize our women, educate and sensitize them,” the former commissioner stated. “The women in Ondo State know us and they know what we stand for. Our President deserves to be re-elected because of all the developmental programmes he has started implementing for Nigeria.”
She explained that the initiative was put together under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to highlight President Tinubu’s accomplishments and ensure massive female voter turnout for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
The AMG women coordinator expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic trajectory, particularly regarding food prices. She projected significant improvements in commodity costs, stating that rice prices, which previously ranged between N180,000 and N200,000, could drop below N20,000 within the next two years.
Adeyanju commended President Tinubu for promoting equitable growth, reviving the economy, and appointing women to strategic positions in governance. She noted that the administration’s strides in human capital development and infrastructure have positioned the President favorably for a second term.
The Director General of AMG, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, reinforced the group’s commitment to grassroots mobilization at the event. He emphasized the need for Nigerians to acknowledge the government’s efforts through various programmes, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
“What we are out for is to sensitize our people about the good works of our President through the Renewed Hope Agenda so that he can continue,” Asagunla said. He appealed to electorates to recognize the improvements delivered across various sectors and support what he described as progressive governance.
The group reaffirmed its determination to mobilize women throughout the South-West region to secure a decisive victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential contest. According to the coordinators, their decades-long involvement in Ondo State politics gives them significant influence among female voters.
AMG has also inaugurated ward and local government coordinators across the 203 wards in Ondo State to strengthen its grassroots structure. The group aims to surpass the 67 percent votes President Tinubu received in the state during the 2023 presidential election.
The women’s wing joins other pro-Tinubu support structures in Ondo State, including the Grassroot Movement for Tinubu (GMT) and the Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT), all working to consolidate support for the President’s re-election across the state.
